By Joyce Jacobo
[Author’s Note: Based on a legend from my area about a ghostly horse that runs around the area where bandits supposedly hid their ill-gotten gains. Have you heard any tales about ghost horses?]
Spectral horse so swift
you run through the hills at night
over buried gold
Wonderful piece, Joyce. I haven’t heard many other than “The Headless Horseman”, hope to read some more by you.π

Thanks. Have you ever heard any stories about ghost horses, aside from Sleepy Hollow?

Nopes, but then I actively avoid ghost stories!

Ah, I understand. They can get very, very spooky. I personally like the more light-hearted kind, where if there are ghost stories, the ghosts are a bit on the nicer side.

Thank you so much, Cindy! It feels good to give this ghostly horse new pastures to run about in here on WordPress, in a sense.

Intermittently, and I never came away with real meaning for the figure other than the usually-ominous sort of signaling intended in a story about something else entirely. I’ll give some thought to it. The specific meaning you’ve presented here is new to me and of course prompting of some digging. π
