A Ghostly Mistake (A Haiku)

By Joyce Jacobo

[Author’s Note: Based on a true story. I used to live in an apartment at a mortuary. The apartment itself was actually a cheery place, and the people who worked at the mortuary were wonderful, but I unfortunately kept spooking one particular employee whenever I came to deliver the rental payments.]

It is a strange thing

to be sometimes mistaken

for a ghostly guest

    1. I felt bad for spooking her. She would jump back, gasp, and place a hand over her heart, but thankfully then she always laughed about it afterwards. I guess I was just a bit too quiet, and she half expected to meet a spirit given her profession. It was quite an interesting experience. Hehe. ^_^
