By Joyce Jacobo
[Author’s Note: I’ve received and bought a few lockets over the years, and each one of them holds precious memories (and often photos). Do any of you wear lockets?]
I wanted . . .
to hold onto
your memory
and keep it close
to my soul
so I sought out
a small vessel
connected by a single
piece
of
string
to lay upon my heart
A simple material possession
where I could have
a piece of you
forever
Beautifully put and I love how the poem drops down like a dangling necklace:) I used to wear one, that belonged to my mother, but now, I so rarely wear any jewellery.

I love lockets. I still have a few, though I no longer wear them daily. Wonderful poem.💕

I’m mostly the same way nowadays, honestly. I always keep them nearby, though.

-haven’t had a locket in a long time, wishing I still had my childhood locket. You’ve inspired me to keep my eyes open

It’s amazing what a special place certain items can hold in our hearts, even after many years later. Happy you enjoyed it. ^_^
